LEO's Ambushed from Traffic stop by AR-15 wielding BG

It's a video, both officers are ok, but both were shot I believe.

    Are officers taught not to run over individuals in such a situation?

    The car with the broadside view and arrived after he got out and started shooting looked to be in perfect position to crush him between the police car and the shooters car. I know it may just be some Monday morning quarterbacking, but the first reaction I had to the video was 'Run him the eff over'.
