I've never heard about the dark red. Ours lay very light blue eggs. I hope I get some red ones though. My daughters would sure get a kick out of it.

We got an 18 count carton, several light blue, several light green, a few brown, one or two white, and one dark red egg.  I think we got a picture of it.  Kiddo insisted on eating it.  He thought it was very cool.
