I can see an online BC helping out... and usually they are pretty close.  But that?

The ad essentially tells the consumer - We have done your patterning for you!      :facepalm

The ad strengthens the old adage:

Investigate and verify for yourself, everything.
None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone.

    It tells me:

I will buy your most expensive s___ because it patterns the best from my shotgun!

That is exactly what a person should do...  IF that is in fact the best load for their gun.  Using a computer program, however, is not the way to ascertain that.

The ad tells me that the person that buys based on the ad alone is more of a turkey than the wild one depicted in the pattern target.

While such information may be helpful in a general sense, we all know what you need to do to match the shotgun shell and your shotgun:  shoot different shells and find out what your shotgun and choke like best for the intended use. There is no substitute for patterning.

What this ad says to me; Is we did the work so you don't have too.  That is why our ammo costs a little extra.

As mentioned above that only works if you have the exact setup as tested.

Sad to say, this is most likely effective marketing.  Most gun advertisements are appealing to the most common denominator anyway.  I've spoken to a lot of people who want to buy Kimbers solely on there full color adverts in  every gun magazine, that's about all it takes to sell the average consumer a gun.  I feel more consumers just buy things without putting much thought in them.  Its the American way in  these times.

Do the staff at Winchester Ammunition read We The Armed?    :hmm

      Note the subtle emphasis shift:

Well if they were not reading WTA before, it would seem they are now.
Which is not a bad thing, as they could learn something from us.
