Remington M887 NitroMag

Just won this at the Friends of NRA dinner.  I know nothing about this shotgun. Good? Bad?  I'm not planning to keep it since I already have a shottie.

I'd prefer to have an 870 another semi-auto. Since it's new, what should I be asking for it?  Can't seem to find a price on them that isn't super old.

    I can't remember what we had been retailing them for... but I think that one was like 450 bucks.  I could be mistaken.

    Ya need to throw down a little more money to win. A couple at a table next to me walked out with some very nice stuff. I think they walked out with 4 guns and a spotting scope and some binos.

    Another guy at the table got a matched pair Colt 1911 in .45 and .380 for $2000.

    Yeah, I've sat next to tables like that.  Normally those guys are throwing down 3 or 4 thousand dollars at a time... some times, per game.  The Friends of the NRA Banquet in Vernal is one of the NRA's biggest money makers.  All those Oil Barons competing on the games and auctions... it's a Status Symbol for them.

    All in all, I threw down $3k.  $1250 was for a sponsorship (including PMR30) and the rest went to the silent and live auction.  The shotty I won in one of the games.  Had a 2 in 54 chance. It was actually quite funny.  The announcer was trying to tease people.  He narrowed it to 10 numbers.  Then to 5 numbers.  Then down to 2 numbers.  He was having fun until I told him I had both numbers.  Stole his thunder, but we all had a good time.

    I got my money's worth but didn't expect to spend as much as I did.

    The only thing I've ever won was a free small cinnamon twist things off a large drink from Taco Bell back when the 2nd or 3rd ORIGINAL Batman movies was in theaters.

    Awesome! I've never won anything like that.

    I'd just put it on Armslist and offer it as a straight up trade for something you want. Heck, trade it for ammo.

    Solved my problem. Dealer let me trade it in for credit.  Add $150 more and I ended up with this. Win for me and him as I don't have room I the safe for a shotty and I've been meaning to pick up one of these. 

    I also traded in the Ruger American .308 that I "won" in the live auction plus another $150 and got the baby brother as well.

    Nice outcome to your "predicament". Let us know how both perform for you. I am especially interested in your opinion on the Shield, as I am thinking about purchasing one in the next few months. Nice new "tools".

    In the hand, the shield just fits well. The bodyguard is a better pocket gun but I can't get a good grip. The Glock 42 had a nice balance but could not get a good grip. It was in between the bodyguard and shield in terms of size.  I'm not sure which one to shoot first. I've got 2,000 rounds of 9mm waiting for me. B
