Glad to see some positive feedback.  I actually like the remington shotgun line.  I like that they are all steel.  I like that there is a HUGE aftermarket for them.  I already know the 1100 series inside and out.  Now I just need to find one...

Sorry about misleading you about the receiver material.

I'm digging this Easyloader made by Dave's Metalworks

I've got an 11-87 set up for the house.

I've taken to numerous shotgun classes and it has functioned flawlessly.  I must be lucky because mine will run the low base stuff with no problems.  It loves the Federal low recoil tactical 9 pellet 00 buck.  The EZloader is an absolute must.  I like the oversized charging handle too.  Because it's a house gun I got the Surefire forend and a sidesaddle too.

So that choate oversized bolt handle works well for you Michael?  I'm thinking of going with a wooden straight stock though.

Yeah, it's easy to reach with my left hand for slug select or other manipulations.

I was looking at either the choate or the Dave's Metalworks one.   I got to use both of them a little and don't know which would be better.  I'm kind of leaning toward the choate, though.

This is the first I have heard of the "easyloader".   My biggest issue with the 1187 over the 870 was getting more rounds into the magazine tube quickly...  Very intriguing.

From reading reviews about installing it, the phrase "minor fitting required" might be misleading.  This makes me go hmmm.  Anyone on here fooled around with installing one of these?

Actually, I haven't.  I had my gunsmith/FFL put on the ghost ring sights, the sidesaddle, and the EZfeed ramp.  I just screwed on the pistolstock and SureFire forend.

I currently have an 1100 that I bought a couple years back.  Paid $400 for it.  It's a good gun but I've been having problems with the feed ramp lately.  It has that speed ramp pictured above.  Will have to take it to GunDoc to take a look.  He fixed it the first time.

Also had a Beretta M1201.  Very similar to the 1100 except for the weight.  The Beretta was much lighter due to the synthetic stock.  It always hurt my shoulder when I shot it.  I had FBMG sell it for me.  I like the 1100 cause it has a wood stock of some kind.  Works well and feels great.

Missed another one.  Could have walked out of the pawn shop with an 11-87 premier for 400 dollars.  Went home to think about it, came back later and it was gone.

An 1100 was in its place for $350.  Just not the same...

An 1100 is still pretty nice.  It's what I have and I love it.

If I could find a 3" mag version, I would.  But I'm looking for an 11-87 since the 1100 3" versions were fairly rare.

Well, I found an 11-87 on Gunbroker and said "screw it, it's mine."

    $342 later, and it's mine.

I should have it this sunday or thereabouts.

How do you know if a dealer on Gun-Broker is reliable?

:rotfl So it's a matter of luck then. Okay, I better consult a gypsy before I buy from Gunbroker.  ;D
