My favorite shells:
28 gauge target loads with #8 hard shot.
These work for Skeet, 5 Stand, Sporting Clays, Quail, and Doves.
20 bore: 2 3/4" Brenneke slugs for serious social occasions.
12 bore: 2 3/4 " Brenneke slugs for serious social occasions
I have other favorites as well for instance :
.410, 2 1/2" hull reloaded with popcorn kernels instead of lead pellets. These work well ridding a barn of pigeons, feral cats, and other pests. Idea being, kernels are more friendly to structure and equipment.
You don't pop off a heavy load in a structure where there is a $300,000 piece of farm machinery, just because pigeons are pooping from the rafters/beams above.
