Marketing Win3Gun Buckshot
« on: September 06, 2014, 07:28:33 pm »
After looking over the advertising these unanswered questions arise:

Why should this buckshot ammo sell to 3 gun competitors over any other brand?

Are there any peformance advantages shown or otherwise presented that would lead competitors to think Win3Gun Buckshot is better than other brands of buckshot ammo or even other Winchester buckshot ammunition?

Is there anything advertised to show Win3Gun Buck is set up for greater feeding reliability in competition, such as: All brass case heads and greater crimp edge radius?

Is there anything advertised to indicate the pellets have a higher antimony content, are held to tighter roundness specifications or otherwise designed for optimum patterns at 3-Gun Competition distances?  What does Winchester Ammunition think is an optimum buckshot pattern for 3-Gun Competition?

The illustrations of Win3Gun buckshot wads indicate these shells have Fiber Wads and no shot cup. Is there a competition advantage to this age-old type of shotshell wad setup?

Take a look at the advertisements and see for yourself:

It looks like the advertising firm was hired to sell "sizzle" rather than "steak!"

Does the American Shooter, Competitor or Hunter deserve better?

What do you think?

I'm tired of ALLLLLL the freakin gimmicks......Remington, Winchester and Federal are all flacking doing it.....

Label your crap like it was 20 years ago and knock off the stupid fracking 20 round boxes.

Well the 20 round boxes as well as 7/8th ounce D&Q loads seem to have died on the vine - shooting consumers apparently didn't like the bait on those hooks.

Back to opinions on Win3Gun 00B...did you find more sizzle than steak?

I saw it, never even tried it.    Now admittedly....I don't three-gun.

But I don't see a single thing it offers over "normal" buffered buckshot.  Some of the super-cheap isn't buffered, but go buffered VS buffered the difference boils down to each shotgun's tastes.

It's cheap enough I'd buy it, if it was more expensive I'd pass.

20-round boxes I was referring to handgun ammo VS 50 round normal boxes.   One reason I only buy online.  I can get a 50-round box for nearly the same price as a 20 rounder.

Well, the Win3Gun 00B load was apparently discontinued sometime since the 2014 start of this thread.  There is no longer any mention of this ammo on the Winchester website.

This marketing twist seems to have simply faded away...quietly.
