Extractors are supposed to be made of hard metal, no?

Extractors are supposed to be made of hard metal, no?

They are supposed to stay sharp throughout their service life to provide positive extraction. Note that they need to be hard enough to last yet not brittle enough to chip/break.

I should hope not. Mobs of rogue woodworking tools would suck to repel.

I've never heard of an 870's extractor breaking.

Right.  The only real issue I've heard about 870s is the tight chamber that fails when you shoot s___ ammo through it.  I think that I learned from you guys that as you use the weapon more, that it gets better and smooths out.
