What a kick

Just had a blast watching this.

Anybody have any stories or experiences with a hard hitting weapon?

    Um...  Yeah...  My bet is that it was designed by an orthopedic surgeon who was putting his kids through college.

    Then again, if you watch someone else touch it off, and still attempt it yourself...  You deserve whatever you get. :bash

    Actually, I was thinking this would be less painful on a tripod, where most crew served weapons belong! Yikes.

    Yeah... Nah, fluff that. In fact, fluff that twice.

    He rattled off several numbers there, but if it's over 200lbs of recoil then that's more than I weigh. If a job requires more than a 12 gauge slug or a .45-70, then I really shouldn't be picking on it.

    Nope not a chance I've lost any interest in shooting calibers that are uncomfortable honestly. I've got nothing to prove I shoot because I enjoy it;)

    I'm thinking a bag of lead shot between the stock and your shoulder might help but even at that its probably not a ride I'd buy a ticket for.   :bash

    This was listed as a possible rifle to put in the game ARK:Survival Evolved where you regularly have T-Rex Dinos trying to gnaw on you. People were discussing deterrent that wasn't just have your own tame dinosaur.

    I think I'd rather have a .50 BMG or a .600 Nitro Express. At least it would be possible to move those and get off more than one shot before your shoulder is destroyed, and I think you'd still do a number on a t-rex.

    Yup.  A .50 BMG or two would likely be enough to put some serious hurt on even large tyrannosaurs.  Probably even a .338 Lapua with copper solids would be enough to reach the boiler room and maybe even impact the pelvic structure with enough force to cause mobility problems.

    One of the Barrett 82s with a short 20" barrel would probably be the best thing now in existence.  The .50 is not a .600, no, but you have 10 of them in a hurry, and reloading is not a terribly long process.  10 AP slugs?  That'll put a hurt on just about anything.

    12ga slugs in Magnus loads, or would that require being too close to "bad breath" distance (which, by my estimation for a t-rex, would be anything closer than 50 yds)?
