    Not on that lever gun.
Good sights are your friend, leave the electronics for black guns.

The only thing that gives me pause about that setup is the amount of sight offset it gives you at the ranges where it's likely to be used.

Personally I like red dots on my lever guns.  I have something like what you do on my Browning BL-22.  I also have a red dot on one of my 1894's but it is a little bitty Bushnell TRS-25 mounted forward of the receiver on a Weaver scout mount.    I've been seriously considering a Leupold Delta Point or a similar sight but I can't quite justify the price.

    Repent blasphemer!

I like red dots, but not on that. If you must have something a bit more modern look at a set of fiber optic sights.

Sorry as a lever aficionado I have to say that the red dot does not belong on a lever. Get some good peep sights and call it good or a low power scope such as the Burris Scout scope(fixed power) you will not be disappointed.

Go with a better red dot that sits lower.
