To be honest, Bax - I hope the Marines do adopt it soon.  The US Marine Snipers can use them.
What I learned from Shep blew away EVERYTHING I learned from the US Army.   Everything.
The Army is the one actually that make too much use of the radio.

    Does that mean neither the Army or the Marines have a .338? Even we got some and that says alot about a cash strapped mod!

    You know, you're not the only one I've heard say something along those lines.  A friend who returned from Iraq some months back commented/lamented how it seems like they have to radio in for permission to do everything but tinkle.   You had to work your way through several layers of commanders and lawyers before you could take a shot.  Said it was frustrating.

    His point was that the days of a sniper crawling around whacking bad guys at 1000 yards are over.  It's observe, call in, wait, watch bad guys walk away while it is discussed in committee.  He was not a happy troopie.

    If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever.

    GOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDD MORNING VIET NAM!!!!!!!

    (and in case you don't get the joke: jab on the Army using the Radio too much (even though Robin Williams played an Airman) and jab on the micromanagement and committee combat of the Viet Nam conflict that is apparently coming back.

    It is an absolute crime that this weapon is not offered in .260 Remington.  It's also a travesty how Remington has utterly and completely dropped the ball on this fine caliber, second only to how George H Bush let Saddam kill the Kurds after encouraging them to revolt.
    I agree, there is getting to be a HUGE market with the tactical/pratical shooters out there, and remmy could cash in big time by offering rifles like this in it.   Not many people want/need a .338, and so they will look for soemthing that doesn't cost 5 dollars a shot.

    I just read up on this weapon and three thoughts came to mind;
    1. I want one.
    2. Why not .260, 7-08, .338 Federal and .30-06?
    3. I want to put on some iron sights, place in the 20" or 24" bbl and run it like an old bolt action battle rifle!
