FR8 rifles - Which stripper clips?
« on: May 02, 2016, 05:15:46 pm »
As I am in the process of purchasing Booksmart's FR8, I am scouring the internet for both ammo and accessories.  His sale included several clips, but I want to have more on hand.  As 'FR8 clips' seem to not exist, what other name might they go by?  Are they really just standard K98 Mauser clips?

Should be standard clips used for most of the Mausers.

7x57, 8x57, 6.5x55, .308/7.62 NATO, and most anything else Mauser bolt actions have been chambered for all used rounds with ~0.473" case heads and they all used pretty much the same pattern for the guide on the rear bridge.

Excellent.  Then I should have no trouble sourcing more. :thumbup1

As I mentioned to Booksmart, I will look into getting some of the reproduction WW2 Wehrmacht ammo pouches, as they hold six full clips each.

Cool. Rimless rounds run so nicely in stripper clips too.

    None of that rimlock BS.
