Do I want a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 (Glock 19 version)
« on: July 05, 2012, 05:00:32 pm »
Ok, here's the deal.  I'm not generally a Kel-Tec fan.  I shouldn't have to justify that statement here.   ;)  However, the Sub-2k intrigues me, especially in the G19 version.  I own a G19 and use it pretty much exclusively as my "car gun".  Is the Sub-2k worth picking up and using as a "car carbine"?  I've never shot one, or even held one.  I've seen some by owners that seem to really make it better/more efficient of a design.

Now, if Gundoc is listening, what I'd REALLY like to have is a modified Sterling made to accept Glock mags...  ;)   :D

IMHO, they're slick little carbines in that they're lightweight, compact, and use common pistol mags - but from what I've personally seen they aren't so hot when it domes to durability and reliability. Sterlings are worlds ahead in those regards.

Personally; I think that unless you're after cheap practice or suppressed use, a carbine (and especially one that lives in a vehicle) should be in a rifle caliber or at least a magnum revolver caliber.

My boss got one and enjoys his. It sits folded in his BUG out bag folded with four 33 round Glock mags ready to go. Mainly because he carries a Glock 26 and its matches. For just sitting in a car in a bag it works. Would it last just burning it to the ground on a regular basis? Don't know. But they are fun I'm not gonna lie.
