Once again ignoring the civilian market, what else is new?

Any opinions?

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.

I don't know how they are still in business.  It's a complete dumpster fire of a company.

Really they should just sell the brand to CZ.  Then CZ can make a snappy new logo with the old Colt C incorporated

Per their press release, they have something like 110 days' production of AR's sitting in their "civilian" distribution pipeline, and a whole bunch of pending government (I'm assuming mostly LEO) contracts, so they're transitioning over to where the demand is.

Honestly can't say I'm surprised: I haven't seen a Colt AR-15 anywhere outside a gun show in years. The only folks I'm aware of who are buying them are new shooters who don't know better and the Colt Fanbois who think that if it ain't Colt then it ain't sh*t.  Nobody else wants to pay $1200 for a $700 rifle with a prancing pony on the receiver.

^ This ^ .   Just more virtue signalling like the recent spate of corporate announcements.  Colt should know better but the company that bears the name today is a far cry from the one that made the name famous.   I think without the announcement nobody would have noticed.   :coffee
