Browning BLR - magazine denting, creasing, scratching cases
« on: October 17, 2008, 10:50:57 am »
Has anyone heard of Browning BLR magazines (.358 Win, for this question) harming cartridge cases?  The cartridges/brass are left with scratches and sometimes somewhat deep creases.

Just soft brass + sharp lips + strong spring?

A fellow I know has one in 7mm Rem mag and it chews up cases too.  I never tried to figure out why.  He loves that thing.  It is very accurate and kills 'em dead.  It does let you know when it goes off though.

This is pretty common, in almost all the BLR's, especially in the bigger calibers.  The old .223 ones and the .22-250, .243 and .308's dont do that so much... but bigger ones do that.  You shouldn't reload that brass.
