Swapping out bullets in loaded rounds

So I have a couple hundred rounds of Wolf 45ACP I can't shoot indoors or out due to the mild steel jacket on the bullets. I was thinking about pulling the bullets and putting coated lead bullets in their place. Can anyone think of a problem with this idea?

Other than the pain of unloading ammo without the grin-inducing Boom!, should work fine.

Is the outdoor ammo restriction a seasonal thing because of fire restrictions?

Well, fire restrictions out in the desert, and ricochets or damage to steel targets at outdoor ranges (Ben Avery only has steel targets last time I went).

Got it. I just saw your posts over at AZGO.
Done carefully it should work OK. If its just practice ammo for the range you can live with a few misfires or other failures. A low cost option would be wax bullets powered by primers if you just want something to goof around with and scare rabbits out of the garden.

I was thinking about using them on Wednesday night steel out at Cowtown, after I test them at Scottsdale Gun Club.
I'll post a report back here and on AZGO after the test.
