Snowed again today-
« on: November 22, 2009, 11:14:13 pm »
Most of the afternoon and evening the dog and I were stuck in the house, it was a Wyoming style snowstorm, straight sideways, cold as #%@$, and blinding.  What to do, what to do?  AH HA!

1500 rounds of standard pressure 38 special, 200 rounds of standard pressure 45 Colt, and 500 rounds each of heavy 44 mag and 357 mag were added to the "done" side of the ledger.  I'm starting to get a bit low on empty pistol brass.  Another couple snowstorms, and I'll have to switch over to loading rifle calibers.

Two things of note-

1.  Stopping to clean the extra bullet lube out of the seating die every hundred rounds or so is a pain.  If the Kieth type SWCs didn't preform so well for the money, I'd run straight jacketed slugs instead.

2.  I love that Dillon 650, but no matter how I try, it will not catch all the empty primers.  It catches about 95 percent of them, but when you go high volume, that's still a lot of dirty spent primers all over the floor. :banghead

This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty. . . . The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction- St. George Tucker, Blackstone's Commentaries
