Been loading a while for other calipers. Time to load my own 223. I have plenty of 4064. I'm hearing this is good for 223? If so, what bullets? I'm thinking about loading for 69 grain, gas gun. Just playing, maybe hunting.

I've used it, but I haven't loaded .223 extensively yet, so I don't have a refined load. I'm planning on using CFE223 for bulk loading as soon as I can devote the dollars to proper progressive loading of rifle cartridges.

I've had friends use it but. I don't know what bullets they use. I'd just go on Hodgdons website and see what loads they have.

Sounds like compressed loads. I'll try 8208XBR instead. I have several of these also.

Lee shows 22.5 to 24.0gr IMR4064 for 69gr FMJ. Since the range between min and max is only 1.5gr, room for weighing error is small.

Never tried it in .223, but it is very good in .308 and many powders that work well with .308 also do well with .223.
There is plenty of reliable load data for it in .223, so give it a try and see how it does.
