I recently received confirmation from Chris Hodgdon that SR4756, SR4759, PB and SR7625 are scheduled to be discontinued by late 2014.

Well those aren't powders I use but it seems like they've discontinued all since they are so hard to find now. One of these days I'll find more powder and I'll be buying lots and lots.
One guy I know goes through about 80 pounds a year.

Title of the thread scared me. I use quite a few different Hodgdon powders -H110, H335, H4895, Varget and H4831SC come to mind. None of the ones described by OP. Hopefully they will continue to make everything else.

Most of those are in the middle of whatever they push burn rate - not a big loss. I say that, but I'm sure somewhere out there someone has a very accurate load that this will effect.

I prefer H110 for .44 magnum but W296 is damn near identical in performance...but a bit dirtier. I picked up 10lbs of IMR 3031 in the last 6 months and have already gone through half of it already. I hate to hear any manufacturer say they are discontinuing product and it was a bit disappointed to learn that Hornady temporarily discontinued quite a few projectiles so they can concentrate on their most popular offerings...but I've found that some of my favorites have gone on their chopping block.

SR4756, SR4759, PB and SR7625 are all single base - nitrocellulose only- powders. Some like SR7625 are primarily used to produce low pressure smokeless powder shotshells like 2 7/8" 1.25 ounce 10 gauge loads. SR 4759. is a bulky handgun powder that has its greatest value as a reduced load propellant for rifle cartridges.
