Title: 32 Special from 30-30?

I have a friend that has an old Winchester in 32 Special that he wants to play around with.
I have a ton of 30-30 brass that I was wondering if I could neck up to 32 Special?

I don't think that will present any problems. Run it through the .32 sizing die and go. I doubt there's enough difference to even make annealing the necks a requirement.

What Jesse said. Not enough difference to require anything other than a trip through a full length resizing die (so long as the .32 is in good shape). In a higher pressure rimless cartridge, the shoulder would have to be addressed. In this case it is small enough not to be and issue, even with well used brass.

the 25-35, 30-30, and 32 special are all the same 'family' of base cartridges. Hell, you could probably 'fire form' 30-30 into 32 special

Could, but with the cost of primers you might as well just load it up.

As the others of said, you're GTG. I would however use a decent amount of lube on the expander ball. 30-30 brass are a little weak in the neck IME, so a little lube to prevent collapsing or stretching the shoulder would be a good idea. That and make double dang sure you/he keep that 30/30 head stamped 32 special brass separated from any true 30-30, eh?
