135gr .38 Super Load
« on: November 03, 2009, 10:29:24 am »
I picked up a box of 135gr LRN .356" bullets from a a fellow shooter who was selling off some of his surplus equipment and supplies.  Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty finding load data for that weight bullet.  My first thought was to use a starting load for 140gr bullets.

Any thoughts.

    That should work.

What kind of powder are you going to use?

EDIT:  I was totally backwards with my last post, sorry.  The bullet you're using is a touch lighter, and most likely a tad shorter as well, so using data for the heavier slug should be just fine.

This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty. . . . The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction- St. George Tucker, Blackstone's Commentaries

I haven't made a decision on powder yet.  I'll probably try a couple different loads ans see which shoots the best.

I have been using Ramshot Silhouette in 9mm and 40 loads.  It works really well, the only issue is that it leaves a little bit of unburned yellow flakes in the gun which I guess is from a flash retardent.
