Did you post something or did my link not work? If I try to play it from WTA, I get an error. If I click it to take me to YouTube, it works fine  :shrug .
My posted link was what I was referring to but I couldn't go directly to the video from your link either so I guess I'll have to go directly to YouTube.

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.

Slash's new album is lights out. I like all his stuff out GNR. Myles Kennedy's voice is an acquired taste but damn, Slash can play.

Yup.  Pretty good.  The singer's voice has a bit of the "high lonesome" sound to it.  She's not Alison Krauss but she's not bad.

That band is from Oslo. That's not "high lonesome", it is "high arctic".

I liked Alison's singing better when she had a "rougher" vocal style.  I am not impressed with the polished Nashville sound in general.

Well, that was pretty impressive.  A 21 minute drum solo is no mean feat by itself but considering what he was working with its even more so.  I wonder how old he was when his parents threw him out of the house?    :whistle

Don't know if I'd call 'em "my jams," but these two songs (as in these exact recordings) have been stuck in my head for the last few days.

We Americans tend to roll our eyes when an Englishman mentions 'ungrateful colonials' in jest.  We imagine that our cause was just, so no matter what the Brits think.  What we sometimes forget, is that other British colonies were less 'ungrateful.'  When Churchill needed an army to fight Hitler, the colonies answered.  Australia, South Africa, Rhodesia, India, Canada...  They all answered the call.  Then in the decades after the war, so many of them were left to float away without a paddle by Britain... :facepalm

True.  That said, we have always come to the aid of the commonwealth in modern times.   I take any commentary re: "ungrateful colonials" with a grain of salt.   These days it seems to me more like good - natured ribbing than anything else.

Certainly, any debt that was 'owed' was squared up by our involvement in the first war, and well overpayed by involvement in the second.  Not that they haven't acted against their own interests to help us a time or two since.

Yup.  A good friend of mine is English and played the "ungrateful colonials" card early and often.  I pointed out that we would be happy to rejoin the commonwealth any time they thought it would be a good idea for us to adopt them as a colony.   :cool   These discussions usually take place over the course of several adult beverages.

Some Australians have a bit of "Australia first" grit to them. One only has to look towards Australian country music, in order to find fierce patriotism in that culture.

Now with that bit of history out of the way, I'm going to be all ethnocentric American and inject some of our musical history here  :neener .

I heard this song a few days ago and thought it was cool, but I didn't realise there was a historical story behind it and I'd like to share it with y'all.
