      I got strange tastes.

      My main 2 most-played songs lately:






    My MP3 player has literally 1940's classic country from Hank WIlliams up to Heavy Metal from FFDP to Halestorm to Waylon Jennings, Alan Jackson to Ray Charles, Creedence Clearwater to the Everly Brothers.       

    If it's good music I'll listen to it.

    And it damn well won't be Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line or some other hick-hop a______.

    Haven't heard of The Weepies, I'll check them out.  My wife's a Mumford & Sons fan (I'm... ambivalent towards them...), and I like some of the Civil Wars stuff. We've got an Austin City Limits show of theirs on the DVR that's a pretty good show.

    This is another one I tend to crank in the car...

    Please do! I've been a disciple of the Weepies for a few years now.

    I'm slightly a fan, just slightly  ;).

    I recommend any album, but the best ones are say I am you and hideaway. Course that's just my opinion.

    I like The Staves.   :thumbup1    Their music reminds me a bit of The Roches.    If you want an album with Christmas music in that style I recommend their album, "We Three Kings" .    Excellent stuff.

    Yep! I love the staves!

    The Weepies, Tegan and Sara, the staves, warpaint, if you haven't noticed by now I'm a sucker for female vocals. Not to get indignant, but men were absolutely cheated when it comes to the voice/singing department. Sure, I love the voice of Willie, Hank, Charley, and George Jones, but in other genres of music? No contest. It goes to the girls.

    So I've been reading John Ringo's Black Tide series again. One of our heroes, a 14-year old Marine Lieutenant who's also a borderline-sociopath (it makes sense in context) mounts some psyop speakers on top of her Amtrack (and later to her own personal M1 Abrams, which is painted pink, has a flame job, and is named "TRIXIE,") and has a habit of blasting this song when she's leading zombie-clearance operations. So naturally said song is now stuck in my head.
