My Jeep at Dozie Pit for the AZGO shoot. You wouldn't believe it but we drove through a torrential downpour from a midday storm to get there. It was pouring rain on the road in one minute and the we drove through it into sunshine. The road was dusty!

Our daily ritual. He waits until I get my duty belt on so he has something to sink his toes into then I walk around finishing my duty prep with him standing on my belt. He weighs all of 43 lbs and is the runt of the litter but is the most athletic and a crazy good dancer.

...and yes I know my holster hood is open. I keep it that way most of the time.

First broken nose of the school year. The next day he was teasing and pestering his 110 lb little sister while she was trying to lie on the sofa and she "accidentally" poked him in the nose and had all 225 lbs of him rolling on the floor in agony. Serves him right. Great times, great times

We went to buy a some of the MegaBloks HALO "mystery packs" with their allowances and I ended up spending my ammo money on Navy SEAL action sets

Ah, they're only little once. I found that out the hard way with their older siblings.

Thanks guys. The chest mag pouch / plate carrier has a cool little pack on the back side and is surprisingly well made. We found them at Walmart of all places and came with the balaclava and subgun

Successfully wasted your tax dollars about a month and a half ago getting my initial carrier qualification in the F/A-18 C. This is a picture of the last class of Marines to pass through the doors of VFA-122 in Lemoore, Ca. I'm the one on the far left.

Very cool. I remember my first attempts at landing helicopters on geological survey boats. It kept going through my mind, "what the F is an Army guy doing landing on a boat?" I can't imagine what it would be like to land an 18 at night in poor wx in rough seas. You got some bigguns.

F-4's, man, that was a jet. Ugly as sin, terrible aerodynamics but riding on two massive engines, that thing didn't so much fly as pummel the air out of its way.

And to be honest, they keep things pretty tame for us getting our initial qual so night traps weren't that bad. Night catapults on the other hand...let's just say I practiced my "war cry" on every cat stroke.

I'm in Colorado Springs. The pics were taken at Phantom Canyon. About an hour south towards Canon City and then headed north to Cripple Creek (the town in the last photo). It's actually a really easy trail. The only challenge was keeping from drifting on the ice.
