While I have a lot of respect and sympathy for General Kelly, it doesn't excuse Trump for what he said to the widow.

Nor does it excuse how much of a clusterfluff the operation Sgt. Johnson died in was.

I'll say it now, Trump is not an orator.  He doesn't use elegant language.  That said, neither is he a crude, insensitive jerk.  That is a part he plays for an audience, not a grieving family.  As the general said, he was communicating a message that he was unable to (as a non service member) in the best way he could.  Any other details or accounts of the conversation are coming from a blatantly partisan source.

As to the rest, I don't pretend to be a source of knowledge into the world of spec ops and black ops that our servicemen engage in, and I know you don't either.  Those who truly know what happened, and why, are keeping quiet.  Those who are currently making noise about it... have no businesses doing so.

    Quoted for truth.

I'm thinking General Kelly's version is probably a good deal closer to the truth of the matter than anything else that has been reported.  The fact that he felt it necessary to step forward and speak on the matter tells me all I need to know about that one woman freak show from Florida.

Remember years ago, a group of cartoon voice actors performed Star Wars, and then a few years later did Empire Strikes Back? Well, the Saga (or at least the OT) is now complete!

The same crew also put together a partial reading of The Princess Bride. It's not nearly as good as any of the Star Wars performances, but it holds a special place in my heart because I was able to watch this particular performance live.

EDIT TO ADD: BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE STAR WARS!

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.

OK - I've rummaged around in the shop and put together a few things that might raise some eyebrows but that thing is a glorified bean shooter.

When you tell me you've got a flame thrower I'm expecting something more than a portable hot air popper with the heating element disabled.   :facepalm

The Joker and The Trickster team up to kidnap a famous movie star. Unfortunately for them, they pick Mark Hamill.
