    Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
    Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.

    Well, in his case that's not entirely a bad thing.   :facepalm   I honestly don't think the term "journalist" was seriously applied to Mr. Thompson for the last twenty years or so prior to his passing.  Alcoholic, drug addled, lunatic - perhaps.  Journalist was a bit of a stretch though.
