Yep, simply just a good 2 hr escape.

  I thought about seeing it this weekend, but just couldn't bear the thought of giving Jamie Foxx any of my money...I've never really cared for him as an actor. I've always thought nearly every role he's been in could've been performed better by several other actors....and since his "kill whitey" comments and other hate-filled foolishness he's pulled recently, I certainly don't care for him now.

This is exactly how I feel about Mark Wahlberg, and why otherwise enjoyable movies like "Shooter" give me problems...

I went and saw it.

On one hand it is 'simple summer fun flick'.  Yea, it had the good fun of that type of movie plus the problems of that type of movie (plot didn't make a lot of sense, bad guys go from unstoppable to buffoons, etc)

On the other hand, the 'bad guys' were the conservatives, 'arms industry', and angry vets, and then threw in a white supremacist.  They even threw in a bit about the news being too quick say any sort of attack must be Al-Queda or other Muslim extremists...which made me immediately think of Boston Marathon and how news was actually the opposite, being actively obtuse to that angle.

If you go see it with your kids, be aware of how easily they soak in the message in the undercurrent and be ready with your delousing agent.

My mother of all people liked it, and, she's about as anti-gun as you can be in this state.
