Sword cane
« on: May 05, 2011, 06:05:37 pm »
Because of the continuing deterioration of my ankles (I wear braces now), I'm looking at needing a cane in the near future.  So I thought about sword canes.  Besides Cold Steel, Who else makes a good quality sword cane?  TIA

I see them at gun shows all the time.  They appear to be good ones too.  I'd check out the next show near you for one.

Check your local laws.  Most places a sword cane is a major felony.  Keep in mind that even if a sword cane is legal its not a "fencing" blade like you see in the movies.  It is a piercing only blade.

A good solid cane actually designed for self defense may be a better option.   Take a look at this site...  Scan down towards the bottom.  http://www.earthworks.com/martialart/canes/canes.htm

If you actually have to use it for self defense a solid cane would be better.
Yes I live in California.  Please dont hold that against me.

    Another option is Cane Masters.

They even have options for designing your own personal cane.

This is not so much a sword cane, as a sword polearm (and a priceless artifact).

Here you go.  They've got levels associated with their sword can styles.  Top of the line, right here, but their entry-level canes are pretty reasonably priced.
