660-grain slug at over 1,500 feet per second. That's gonna put a hurtin' on something.

So if this is a ten bore, remind me to never shoot a four bore or two bore.
I'm still working up the courage to shoot a Marlin guide gun :hide .

Stick to regular loads, and they are not bad at all.

Won't be too bad. That's a freakin' cool gun.
So heavy I don't think it'd kick bad, my .69 flintlock shoots a 450? roughly grain ball with 100 grains of powder. It's less than a .22 almost.
Goldang though......10 bore....nice.
Samuel Baker of the Victorian era of British empire had a 2-bore muzzleloader....a HALF POUND ball....he named it "Baby" and admitted that it was too severe for even him to some degree. lol.

Shoot some Remington Express 405 grain SP rounds. Nice rounds that aren't thumpers.

I'd love to shoot that thing. If someone brings around a heavy recoiling weapon I'm usually the first one to want to try it. I'm weird like that.
I stumbled across Forgotten Weapons on you tube a while back and I think I've watched every one now. Excellent channel worth subscribing to.
