The Oberg Color Film Footage of Pearl Harbor - December 7, 1941
« on: December 07, 2018, 10:14:05 am »
The impact of historical events inevitably fade with the passage of time.  Now and then a small part of the story makes its way forward to remind us it was real. In this case 77 years ago:

"This short documentary tells the story of Harold & Eda Oberg, & the film footage they recorded of the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941.  The couple captured shots during & after the attack on Hickam Army Airfield."

That was a fascinating bit of history.  I've been to Pearl Harbor .... personal stories like this bring home the fact it was more than a chapter in a history book,  real people lived through it, each seeing and experiencing it on a personal level.

    Thank you for posting this.

That was a great short documentary. I went to Pearl when I was about 11, and even at that age standing above the Arizona is a sobering moment.
