Thanks George...

Nice forum.  I read a lot of them but never register.

Your blog has been my homepage for years.

I absolutely love the reviews you do on all sporting goods and Geekware George.  Invaluable information.  Especially your evolving tastes in Optics.  My weakest area of knowlege.  Maybe someday I can get some good glass so I have to settle for the cheap stuff now.  It's great that you are willing to put in the time and effort to educate and inform when you test drive all the toys in the shop.  Brilliant.

I'll be hunting Elk and Mulies next Wednesday @ 7800' and higher in the Rockies just West of Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak.   Not enough snow to push the Elk down I fear, but we shall see.  I'm holding heart sized groups @ 300 yards with my 4.5-14x40 BDC Nikon Buckmaster.  I need more time with it to tighten up my groups to an inch like I had last year with my 3-9x30 Burris Fullfield II that I removed and put on my son's rifle.

Nikon tops a Remington Model Seven .300 SAUM and the Burris is on top of a Savage Model 16 .300 WSM.  Love that Accutrigger.  My son will own anything inside 200 yards. He shot a nice 8 pointer last year for his first deer and his second hunt.  (He shot it with my rifle, so the Savage is new since this spring and hasn't been bled yet).

I still need to buy dies for the WSM and work up a load for that rifle but damn, everybody who shoots it drills dead center bullseyes @ 200 yards.  We are talking right through the same bullet hole accurate.  I think it's that Accutrigger.  Just love it.  I may have to get one for me in a right handed model.

Keep up the good work and thanks for all you do.

Born on the Iron Range.  What can I say?  I love Liberals and Snow.

They taste like chicken and it's easy to track 'em.
Hunting is good.
