.300 H&H
« on: July 22, 2009, 10:56:50 am »
I was happy to see your post on the .300 H&H.  I had the pleasure of shooing one about a year ago.  It was a commercial Mauser with a old Redfield scope on top and firing some older Kynoch (read: cordite) soft points.  It had pleasant recoil (more of a push than an '06 out of similar rifles) and would put them were you wanted them.  A precision tool it was not, but it would certainly get the job done.

I think it would be a fair choice for somewhat recoil sensitive shooters that still want/need the power of a .30 - if one could find ammo.

Indeed... it is an option.  Of course there is also the .303 British which is like a .308 Light.

I LOVE MY .303.  I wish there were more modern rifles chambered in it.

    Here! Here!

There is a warm place in my heart for British killing implements.  I lust after a L42A1 :sniper
