Hammer fired 7.62mm pistol with safety bar in trigger!
« on: June 12, 2019, 02:12:39 pm »
Classic Firearms has added a  Yugoslavian M57 TT Tokarev Pistol - 7.62x25 Caliber W/ Trigger Safety to their line of surplus imports.

Here is what I find most interesting about this affordable handgun:

From a defensive standpoint, those who want a slim, high velocity small bore pistol, this offers something very different.  Yes, this external hammer single action has a trigger face safety - opening the door to cocked and locked carry with the popular Glock type trigger face safety!

Indeed, Prvi-Partizan, (PPU)  offers an 85gr JHP rated at 1675 fps.

 :hmm   Your thoughts?

I've never fired one but I remember the ones brought back from Viet Nam. I wouldn't mind having one to play with at the range.

I don't have this version.  Mine is the slightly older version with the manual safety on the slide.  I have them in 7.62x25 and 9x19.  Both are fun to shoot once one gets used to the grip angle.  If I didn't already own more than one, I'd consider getting this.

If I recall correctly, that is what Jeff Cooper said about double action semiautomatics.

Perhaps.  It has been quite a while since I read any of his books or articles but it sounds like something he might have said.
