My new BCM Gunfighter Comp! Help!
« on: January 14, 2013, 09:20:56 pm »
Now that I have your attention, I need some help with the installation so I can hurry up and go shoot and report back to you guys.

When I hand-tighten the comp, it lands about 10-15 degrees PAST where it needs to be.  I know this is what the crush washer is for, but can I really expect to get another 345 degrees with a wrench? How far does a crush washer crush?

Ditch the crush washer. You need shims. I know AAC includes a full set with their muzzle devices, because I've installed two of them. I think they sell them separately, and there's no reason they wouldn't work for your application, assuming your muzzle brake has 1/2" threads (5.56mm barrel) or 5/8" (.308 barrel). I didn't find them on Brownell's.
