A little MkII work for Harm
« on: December 30, 2012, 04:17:45 pm »
Harm asked me about refinishing his Ruger MkII since it had suddenly developed a bunch of surface rust. I asked him if he maybe wanted it threaded while I was at it and his response was predictable  ;)

So here's a bit of what I've got so far.

Getting things situated in the lathe:

Threads cut:

Thread protector made:

Next up I'll see about adding a second hole for moving the front sight back when using a suppressor, then blasting and spraying the whole thing.

Nice, clean.  Did you lightly chamfer the leading edge of the thread before removing from the fixture?

I love the idea that there COULD be a conversation involving Harm in which he is offered a threaded barrel and he says, "You know? No. I'll pass."

Hollywood movie scripts have been rejected on less outlandish premises.
