I noticed that the op is posting the same adds on other forums and has been banned on one.

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.

I noticed that as well.  Four posts, and all are plugging something for sale.  Moderator status must be because Apps47inc is tied in with the new owners of the forum.  If they (he, she, whomever) keep it up we can probably kiss the rest of the neighborhood goodbye.   :banghead

Maybe a certain number of posts should be required before being allowed to offer items for sale.  :coffee

I believe the entity that owns the subforum has moderator rights over their subforum area.

I just reported the OP to the moderators and asked for a clarification.  I'll either report back what I find out or get banned for my temerity.   :cool

According to the member list the OP'er joined last month and is listed there as a "junior member" without the distinction of being listed as "WTA Staff" or "moderator".    :hmm

And yet it says "moderator" under their avatar on their posts... Interesting...

Again, I think it only says moderator in the Gun.deals section for that individual.

Apparently the nOOb in question is a new forum sponsor and gets a pass on posting items for sale without a minimum post count or substantial interaction with the unwashed.   :shrug

He has his own subforum in the sponsors' section.  He paid for the right to post these ads.

Still...  It's not exactly welcome to see half of the new threads on WTA be 'for sale' posts.  I'm thinking it's probably time for me to find a new online home.

That explains it. I confess that I never check the main page and see what new sections may have appeared: I just click "Show unread posts since your last visit."

    Where would you go?

I've never messed with any other online forum. The people at S&W forum were nice and I have heard good things about AZ gun owners (or whatever the name of the forum is). Either way, WTA is my only gun forum.

Hopefully the moderator and/or the Sponsor will start to interact with us the members especially when we comment on the products being advertised.  Otherwise I will just disregard the whole sub-forum and avoid their site if I run across it elsewhere on the web.

I come to WTA for the advice, experience and expertise of the members, there is a lot of collective knowledge here. I don't want an infomercial. I can get that elsewhere.

It's the successor to Kim du Toit's old Nation of Riflemen forum.  I know of at least one other WtA member who's also over there.

I have to wonder just how much this guy paid to make WTA unusable... :coffee

Too inactive.  It looks even slower than here.  I come to WTA for two things, gun advice, and a gun-related chat room.  The forum activity has killed the former, and this latest joker is crippling the latter.

I wouldn't call it "unusable." Annoying, oh yes, but I don't think we've hit "unusable" just yet. I figure if we ignore him and don't click the links, he'll eventually decide that it's not worth the time to post the adds or the money to sponsor the forum because he's not getting any click-throughs on his ads, and then he'll go away.

I don't mind a sponsor advertising, but he's going about it completely wrong.   Just make one post with the deals.   Having dozens of different ones just pisses everyone off and it's just going to drive customers away.

Actually, most of the time I find it more active than this one.  Seems like half the time I come here and the only "new since last visit" posting is in the "Worst of SJWs" thread.
