    Did I hear the newscaster say "the cloud of smoke went over 1000 kilometers into the air"?  :scrutiny :facepalm

    I could see 1000 meters, but 1000 km is well into low earth orbit.

    Yeah, I think she misspoke, she most likely meant 1,000m.
    What I found remarkable were the shock waves that were visible moving through the clouds!

    Krakatoa was estimated to have throw debris 50 KM into the air.

    This was no Krakatoa.
