It was just a mild tingling... I've given worse static shocks - including the time I produced a visible spark when touching someone on the spine. My finger went numb with that one. The friend I zapped damn near collapsed.

When I was in high school, we were renovating the kitchen, part of which included moving the dishwasher & kitchen sink <-thataway about 5 feet. The electrician we hired to do the electrical portion (moving the disposal & the dishwasher wiring), asked me where the panel was (down in the laundry room). Instead of going and turning off the breaker, he grabbed a pair of insulated wire cutters and snipped the line, producing a loud pop, a small flash... and a pair of wirecutters arcwelded to the wire (which came off with a little bit of wiggling). He then went down, and checked which breaker had jumped, remarking "Cool. For once, it was labelled right."

I almost got zapped trying to fix the bathroom outlet in our new house shortly after we moved in a few months ago. Turned off the breaker, but it turned out the outlet was still live. I think they had double wired it into the wrong breaker instead of the one it should have been.

Fortunately I noticed the slight tingling when I was taking it out of the outlet box and backed off and rechecked the breakers again and got the right one off before I got zapped.

I ALWAYS test outlets and/or switches after I've turned off the "correct" breaker.

Was bit too many times when I was in college.

Meh. He was just trying to impress a teenager... I'd played around with electronics for a while, even by then. He didn't do anything I hadn't seen first hand.

Well, Friday my Sig P239 finally sold.
Saturday I picked up the check first thing on the way to work after getting the oil changed in the truck, then cashed it at noon.
Sunday I met a friend at a gun show where he had a couple of tables. We'd already arranged this purchase months ago, but we couldn't complete it till I had the funds from the sale of the Sig.

So, I am now in possession of a very nice S&W Target Model of 1950. It has a bit of wear, but I'm going to shoot it, not look at it. He kept the Hogue grips, and put a very nice set of S&W grips on it instead. He also has about 1000 pieces of brass for me too!

I also picked up a carbide sizing die for $10, and have already used it to size all 272 pieces of brass I already had.

It's extremely accurate too.

I can hit a bowling pin at 55 yards (seated, wrists rested, single action) about every other shot.

Very nice. Glad your Sig sold. That wheely is special. I am glad that I have not seen a dedicated .44 spc, the temptation might be too much.

Yyyup.

That was part of my sequence, too. Turned off the breaker labelled "ground receptacles," go upstairs and look at the ground receptacles... little LED still lit... *grumble*... *flip* *flip* *flip* "Nope. Nope. Nope."

He gave it to my step-brother a few years ago. Who lives in Sweden. So the gun is still in my dad's physical possession. A year or so later he asked me to load up some ammo for it. But it wasn't really till I decided to get rid of the Sig that I decided I wanted a .44. Well, that's not quite correct. I had decided that I wanted either a .44 or a .45 Colt several years ago. After finding over a hundred pieces of .45 Colt brass at the range, I went with the .45 Colt, in a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible.

But I still wanted a .44. So, about the time I put the Sig on the market I talked to a friend who had previously told me he was considering selling some of his guns, to see if he had any .44s I could afford. Special or Magnum didn't matter.

He offered this one to me for a price I could afford, but well below its market value. So, I was extremely blessed by his generosity. As mentioned above, I've already shot it several times last fall at the club bowling pin matches, but had to sit back and just wait to actually buy it.

I was just wanting to get "a" .44. I never expected to be able to get one that's equal to, no-actually nicer than, the one my dad had/has.

Taking today off to work on projects around the house. Also taking the wife out for dinner and we are going to listen to some live music.

These guys are playing at one of the local watering holes. My boss and I had to almost double the size of the stage to fit them all and their gear. I am excited it should be a great show.

Got two doors hung in the house. Only had to change the swing on one. Now I have to change the swing on two more and cut them down. These free doors are time consuming.

Planet Comicon in Kansas City. I'm the tall trooper on the end next to Major Bludd. The Viper and Officer in the front aren't actually members of our group, they just stopped by for a photo. It's too bad that our Cobra Commander was still busy getting his costume on and wasn't back at the booth yet for the picture.

Our gun wall was pretty popular with the crowd. As was the M-60 we had set up at the front of the booth.

Hank Jr. concert up in the North GA mountains--wife has liked him since we saw him at the NRA convention a few years ago

we left the house early, and went the local roads, just enjoying the nice weather

and...........for all you folks who consider burning powder as therapy and good for what ails ya'............it appears other people do too

Went to the shooting range. Trying to get an FAL to run correctly. It's one I built out of a parts kit years ago and I just pulled it out of the safe since I finally have some time to mess with it now.

Been having feeding issues with it. It was built with an Imbel receiver, so I shouldn't have any issues with the receiver not being in spec. I don't think it's the gas system either, since sometimes it has trouble feeding even when running the charging handle. Seems to be better from the Steyr magazine I tried, but it's still not reliable. Especially when the mag is closer to full. I think I might try a new set of recoil springs next.

Tried to fix my twelve year old washing machine. Figured out it was going to cost considerably more than I wanted to have tied up in a twelve year old washing machine so Mrs. c got to choose a brand, spanking new machine form the local emporium. With any luck it will be delivered on Monday. Yes, it will leave a crater in my wallet but it has a five year parts and labor warranty included so hopefully the crater can get filled back in a little before the dryer gives up the ghost.

This weekend...

Gunshow with Nukmed. Nothing tickled our fancy. It was kinda a weak sauce show to be honest.

Next up was replacing the stems and valve seats in a tub/shower faucet. A plumbing job it went completely without incident, which always makes me nervous.

My third child's '95 Bronco was having issues with the driver door trim and automatic window. The section of plastic the power control panel attaches to had broken, so I fabricated a replacement out of 1/4" fiberglass and attached it with some JB Weld. Replaced a couple of screws and with the trim panel all set turned my attention to the window that wasn't working. Except at that point the window was working again.

Two jobs in a row with no issues? Family curse must be back building....

The final task slated for the day was a board for my mom's antique sewing table. She is wearing out the veneer so I cut a section of 1/2" plywood to go over the top, rounded out the edges, stained it to match the machine cabinet and got a couple of coats of finish on the wood. Again, smooth sailing.

Having finished all three tasks without issue, I dug into the 2018 taxes with some concern based on the experience so many of my peers had shared. But, they worked out reasonably well and I have no concerns.

So, it was a really good weekend, but now I am concerned at the run of "good" luck I am having....

Having seen literally hundreds of returns in the last two months, I can tell you that the new forms SUCK! They added schedules that weren't needed, and made them much harder to trace where numbers are coming from.

Oh, and they pretty much got the withholding tables too low, as more people are ending up owing when they'd usually received refunds before.

We took our son to the Georgia Aquarium - one of his favorite things to do. Waaaaaaayyyy too many people there, and the AC wasn't up to it.

Sunday was a dead day for all of us.

I think the most eventful thing was researching bathroom exhaust fans, and what all I've got to do to do everything the way it should have been done in the first place.
