Poured about 1 inch thick concrete under-layers in 3 rooms (aprox 650sqft) followed 36-48 hours later by installing laminate flooring.

Also supervised brush clearing of a few acres on the property.

Next up, planning where to drop fill to raise elevations (had some flooding last week) along with berms and plantings of bamboo (ect) to deal with surges from the creeks. Also plan a fish pond and a rifle berm.
On someone else's dime. :D
Having so much fun! :cool

TIE Reserve Pilot and Bridge Crewman.

That's awesome.  I have always been a Star Wars fan.  I'm a bit too old for that type of cosplay, (not technically, just too old to deal with crafting a uniform) but I too would pick something OT.

My only... question... would revolve around the uniform fit.  Are the baggy shirt and pants correct?  It has been a while, but I seem to recall imperial bridge staff sporting a more tailored look.

It's actually a one-piece flight suit, so it is supposed to be on the baggy side (though I think it might be just a bit too baggy to pass muster, though that's nothing fifteen minutes or so with a needle and threat won't fix). Staff officers and line officers (the dudes with the red-and-blue rank bars over their hearts) are supposed to have tailored, sharp-fitting uniforms.

And if you do choose to get into it, don't worry about having to make the uniform yourself: the 501st is big enough that there are people who make and sell components for almost every approved costume. I have zero arts-and-crafts ability whatsoever, so I bought every piece of the costume already pre-made.

It actually happened last weekend (as in not this one past, but the one before), but my 501st costume was officially approved. TI-52818 reporting for duty!

This weekend my oldest boy and I finished moving my latest tool into place.

VFD and some tooling arrives on Tuesday/Wednesday, so hopefully my mid-week I will be making some chips.

I would love to learn machining, but I already have some expensive hobbies with not enough room or money for more.

8 hours of firewood cutting, splitting, and stacking on Saturday.  We bought a 7 cord dump truck of logs that were delivered on Valentine's day.  Would have been done before sunset except I ended up going to town to get a new chainsaw after breaking my older, now smaller chainsaw.

Today 8 hours of snow blowing after getting the new carb on the snowblower.  8" of snow last night, another 3-8" in the forecast for this up coming week.  I had thought that we had not gotten any snow this winter until I went around the other side of the greenhouse and realized that the snow was 6' deep on that side.  The appeal of Tuscan is becoming clear to me.

I am tired.  Can I go back to work for another 50+ hour at work so I can get rested up for my next fun filled weekend.

As always, free time during the week was non-existent, so all the mid-week goodies just sat until Saturday.

On Saturday we ran the conduit, pulled the 10/3, installed a double pole switch and wired the VFD to power and to the mill.  Programmed and pushed the button for a test run just before the bell rang to clean up for a night out with the missus.

Sunday morning before church was spent with the indicator on the spindle tramming the head.  The table is pretty chewed up, but I got it within about a thousandth all the way around. Mounted up a Kurt vise and got it trued up to the table.  I also got the VFD control wiring connected to the head switch on the mill, so once the VFD is on, it works pretty much as anyone would expect.  Almost missed church, but made it in during the first hymn.

After church I scrounged up some 1.5" EMT conduit and put a 3/8" end mill in a collet, put the EMT in the vice, and put a small flat on it.  Then I cut a 3/8" groove about 3" long using the X power feed.

So, the mill is in business!

This sounds pretty familiar;) If I could get out in the woods I'd be cutting but at this point I've gone lazy and I've got a friend who is delivering for the remainder of the winter. Once the snow drops I'll get out and start this years wood. I'm going to have to try for early in the year with the baby coming in the middle. But we did get a bunch of snow the other day and I spent the whole day plowing, then rebuilding the carb on the snowblower I hadn't used in years so that I could clear a path around the shop for the wheeler to haul wood. Never had to do that past years, always managed to keep a packed enough trail. Either all the time out of the shop the last couple weeks or excessive snow, either way snowblower is handy to have running anyhow so it's a win win.

Went to a Bob Seger concert with my wife, it was a lot of fun.  He sang "Turn the Page" and you could hear the whole arena singing. Very cool.  Hosted a birthday party for a friend.  Checked out a new steakhouse in the next town over.

We had the late winter/early spring grappling tournament in OKC this weekend. I won my weight/age class, but came in 4th(no podium :banghead)  in the open class. There was also an inadvertent knee to eye impact during a rather sloppy double leg I attempted. So I have a sweet shiner for the start of the week.

Also I really need to work on more cardio... I learn this lesson every year.  :D

Yesterday was my First Troop (i.e. first event in-costume) with the 501st Legion. We put in a guest appearance at a Boy Scout Troop's Blue & Gold Banquet.

Finally closed on selling our old house on Friday.  I've been stressing out over that for months.   We bought the new one on July 31st,  but then I had to travel a bunch for work in August.  So it was September before we got all our stuff moved.   Then we had to do some more stuff to get it ready for listing (new carpet, new vinyl in the kitchen, painting, etc.), and it was early October before we were finally able to get it on the market.   Which is a s___ty time of year to sell a house and we missed the summer buying crowd.

We weren't getting much interest initially.  One lowball offer right after Thanksgiving, but we couldn't come to an agreement.  We finally got some good interest after new years.  Had two offers come in on the same day. After some back and forth with them, we finally got a decent offer that was pretty close to where I was hoping for.   We did have to replace the roof and do a little plumbing work after the inspection, but fortunately insurance was able to cover some of the cost on that due to being able to make a claim for hail damage.  So next week, I'll take the proceeds of that and pay off the mortgage on the new house.    Wish I could have done it Friday, but since the closing was in the afternoon, we couldn't make it to the mortgage office before they closed for the weekend.

Other than that, mostly hung around the house and took care of our dogs and cats while my wife was out of town.  I also put together the kitchen microwave cart I ordered her for Valentine's day, (yes she really wanted that, we need more counter space.)

Got snowed in for the first time in my life.

Well, technically it was this morning that I realized I was snowed in when I tried to go to work, but the snow started yesterday.

8" (so far).  I backed out of the driveway, and promptly got stuck in the cul de sac.  Took several minutes of jockying back and forth to get it to move enough to head back up the driveway.  There was no way the truck was going to head up the street.

    And . . .

I'm still stuck.  Snow stopped and it warmed up to almost 40, but there's so much out there that I still can't go anywhere.  I tried a couple of hours ago.  Got 10' further than the first try.  And had to get a shovel out to clear 6' behind the rear wheels so I could get running room, and clear a path for the front wheels  to track in so it would turn back toward the driveway.

And I have a bunch of tax prep waiting at work . . .  That I can't get to.

    Pooh.

Guess I'll have to load up some 9mm ammo as a consolation.     :rotfl

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.

My weekend started early.............took the Missus to AATW yesterday.
They are doing a mini acoustic tour. Place only held about 150 people, so more like a large party than a concert
