If I was that kids parents I would want that teacher repremanded, when I was in school we never got spoke to like that for our political views. What she said to the kid about her dad staying in Iraq for another 100years could really put alot of pressure apon her it looked like she was going to cry. Irwin

Sounds like the little girl needs some counseling and an attorney to recover the dollars needed to cure her trauma.  I hope she signed a waver to be on youtube.  Opps a minor, hope her parents did.

Show up to the school district with that combo and see what happens next.

I  heard the audio on the way home last night, while stuck in traffic.  That teacher (or whatever she calls herself) is a pretty poor example to aspire to, in my book.  When I was in school, the teachers knew enough to divorce their feelings from the discussion.

Issues have no place in elementary school. Especially in this election. Most adults couldn't effectively argue the issues in this election, much less kids. All that does is create opportunities for animosity between kids who probably don't understand. And telling that little girl her dad would be in Iraq for a hundred years is not only blatantly false, but a terrible hurtful thing to say to a child. That teacher should be hauled out behind the woodshed and paddled.

    My email to him:

I implore you to follow-up on your superintendent's investigation into this video.  I am not only disturbed by the obviously inappropriate actions of the teacher but the fact that this video is displayed on You Tube.  Many public service announcements to teens make the point that these videos "live on".  I think the impact of this on the little girl is obvious, especially in a military community such as yours.

This student impact should weigh heavily upon what I hope is a dismissal process.  I'd also recommend a more rigid policy regarding the use of proper English in the classroom.  "Who ya for"  isn't preparing these children to function successfully in the world.

:banghead  There are WAY TOO MANY teachers who think JUST like this nut case.  What are we exposing our kids to?  Public education is far more concerned with programming political correctness than actually teaching kids how to READ or THINK for themselves.   It is unfortunate that these children are the ones who suffer the most from these nuts...
