It is a followup to the article that you posted.  Near the end the author claims that the first article was meant as a joke.

Calling himself an ethicist and posting the first article are incongruous to me.  Many people carry a gun for protection because they value their own life and the lives of their family.  To deny a man the same right as a woman based on gender is appalling.  The reverse is appalling as well.
