It is a cool place with many cool people.

Yeah, unfortunately you need that.    I used to hang out on a different forum, but it started to get out of hand and I left.  Some people started posting subtle (and not so subtle) racist crap and the ownership never brought the hammer down on them.  There was also a period of several months where they were having constant server problems.  Eventually, a lot of the better posters started to leave and the place is now a shadow of what it used to be.

We the armed is the only forum I have joined, but it does have something unique about it. Aside from our members being polite, it is also a fairly small group which I think makes it feel more personal then those "other forums". Yes I do think I will enjoy it here. 

There are people here that I think more of than many of my blood relations.
That I think of as extended family.

On the subject of eminently civil and excellent gun-related forums...is anyone else here on Chris Byrne's (aka the Anarchangel, and yes, he was a minor character in Dead Six) www.theguncounter.com?

I am more of a lurker than a poster, but I still post occasionally. What I like about WTA is that although the vast majority of posts are about guns, there are many other topics that get posted about.  Motorcycles, movies, politics, you name it.  How many gun forums do you know of that have a creative writing section?  I don't read too much of the creative writing stuff, but I like that it is out there.  Nothing is out of bounds here as long as it is mostly in good taste, and everyone it respectful to one another.

Welcome aboard, and feel free to bring even more subject variety to our forum.

After hanging out here for the last few years, I don't want to go anywhere else. The folks on  WTA have spoiled me for other forums.

Felt right at home, even though at the time I didn't own, but wanted to find information about guns. I have to say, that my time as a member got me into firearms. After talking to everyone here, I wanted to be a part of the group as a peer, not just a wannabe.

Thank you everyone, beers on me should we ever meet face to face. (Or beverage of choice)

This place is definitely different.
Most other forums feel... condescending, there is a constant one-upsmanship or standoffish nature of the people.
I have found here a great place with generally good, knowledgeable people wanting to share and seek out knowledge without malice (generally speaking  ).

I do consider this my home on the internet, its one of the first three sites I open in the morning and of the last three before I bed down at night.

Yep I'm a member there with the same username (I wish in retrospect I'd picked a different moniker years ago when I started doing the forum thing lol oh well)
Pretty good place, a couple of the mods bring some big attitude to the table but generally good folks.
I was a member of the forum attached to theothersideofkim.com back in the day, so I hooked in with those guys when they started the gun counter.
The place over there is just kind of slow  dunno, just spend more time here. 

I have been a member since day two, and while I don't post very often, the knowledge I have gained through this forum has not only broadened my mind but has also influenced my life considerably.  Heck, my family and I are planning to move to Arizona next year because of some of you!
