Yeah, I read that this morning.  I've read most of his works.  Eaters of the Dead was his best.

I agree that was an excellent story; he was a prolific and intelligent writer, but I actually felt that "State of Fear" was his best. Adding to its appeal was the fact that  it was an excellent kick in the pants to the Gore-Zombies  :neener

The Greens and Liberals have tried to ban that book from a couple of the local libraries. That tells how much they feel it hurts them  ;D

That's to bad. I read a few of his books. For the most part I liked them.

Damn. Just...damn. No more can I come across "the new Michael Crichton novel" at the book store and grab it like a linebacker on a loose football.

Another great writer gone. I'm glad that we're growing a few around here to follow his lead. He'll be missed.

Great to know I'm not the only person in the whole world who thought so!

He was a great talent.  I fancy myself a writer sometimes, but I'll be happy to think I have 1/10th the talent he had.

Thanks for all the yarns, buddy!

This killed my day yesterday.  I've read everything (except Eaters of the Dead :banghead) he'd written.  He will be missed as he was one of the few truly intelligent artists left in our society.  No one else had his grasp of adventure, suspense, science or reality.  I don't think I can list a favorite but I loved Jurrassic Park, Congo, Timeline and Airframe.  Sadly they've only made 1 good movie out of his books.

This is surprising.   What a wonderful author Crichton was.  I enjoyed "Andromeda Strain" and "Rising Sun".

       Rest in peace.
