I thought I'd throw this out there for the hive mind-
I last had insurance coverage back in 2004, then dropped it after I went overseas and sold the vehicle.
Over there I was either driving government owned vehicles, company supplied vehicles, or rental cars which came with their own insurance.
Now that we've been back in the states a while we're looking at buying a vehicle, but I'm trying to avoid getting gouged on insurance rates. I seem to recall that rates can be fairly harsh if you're considered previously "uninsured".
I'm 50, with a squeaky clean driving record and she's 34 with a clean record as well.
Any suggestions?
