New Category Suggestions
« on: October 17, 2008, 05:54:49 am »
Maybe y'all should add a gunsmithing and maybe a home-builder category to the forums...

{EDIT}
Appears there is an FBMG gunsmithing category... Well paint my face red.  So I take it that's where one would post gunsmithing related questions right?

Serious applause for whoever thought of the newbie forum.  That will keep a lot of the stupid questions clutter out of the regular forums.  Great idea!

    New categories?
    Uhhh... design.
    (You knew it was coming)
One thing I hated was spamming the rifle forum with design ideas to toss around. Not only did it clutter up the forum, but the wrong kinda people responded. Not that there was anything wrong with that, but sometimes, I'd have an idea that didn't really have a clear point, it was just fun or neat. I'd always get responses like "why'd you do that?" or "the {blank} is better". Those are accurate comments, but I think it'd be better for those of us who like thinking of new guns and technologies (as well as everyone else) to have our own forum.
    Thanks for listening

Perhaps something regarding Paintball and airsoft. Aslong as its popular with a majority of the crowd.

I think something of a 'Strategies and Tactics' forum like that of THR would be beneficial.
If I saw a guy with a 60cu/ft safe filled to the brim with nothing but Jennings, Lorcins and Hi-Points, I'd look at the guy and say "Right on brother".

I would dig a "toy" forum for airsoft/paintball, etc.  I am an avid arisofter; sometimes it is nice to be able to shoot other people -- without the mess of paintball or lead...  ;D

    George,

    PM sent.

    Folks,
Let me wait and hear back from George and Larry and other folks in charge around here.

I will share, I feel such a calendar is needed, and would be best  implemented with a  team of folks from around the country to assist with keeping up with what all is going on in respective regions of the USA, and outside of the USA.

I would REALLY REALLY like a reloading/handloading forum.  My favorite forum back at the old place.  And for reloaders, such a forum is really useful.

+1!  I will be into the reloading game early next year and I enjoy reading and learning all I can.

How about a forum dedicated to concealed-carry issues?

    there are so many...

    - what's the best gun to carry?
    - what does the law say about...?
    - how do you practice drawing your weapon (in your car, on the bus, in a theater....)?
    - where can you get good training?

    and so on.

    Anyone else interested?

    Subforums are you friend.
    Common rifle types?
In the "Rifle" section, make a section for AKs, AR-15s, Mosins, or maybe just a "Military Style Rifle" forum, etc. The direct people to those forums when they hit the "Rifle" subforum.
    I also second a paintball/AirSoft forum.
    Thanks for listening
