Title: Mountain man scares owners of remote Utah cabins
Post by: strangelittleman on February 17, 2012, 12:48:58 pm
Any of the WTA in the Utah/Arizona area familiar with this apparently on-going story? It's the first I've heard of it.
It's similar to some past instances we've had here in the Apps.

Interesting.  Sounds like a very odd situation.

I dont know anything about it specifically - ran into the Payson hermit a couple of times but he's pretty harmless.   :shrug

Find it odd the way he's carrying on - sounds a bit like a nutter.

Better than a situation I heard about in the Sierra Nevadas - people came to their summer cabin and found squatters.  Vacation group was unarmed, squatters weren't.

Case is still unsolved according to my aunt.

Read that earlier today.  The guy seems a bit nuts.  An outdoorsman that lost everything and just decided to live off the land and ended up losing his marbles somewhere along the way.

Reminds me of Charles Brogdon, AKA The See More Kid. Brogdon was a half Choctaw petty criminal that roamed the Texas Hill Country for years. He's break into a farm house, eat the food, drink the beer, do all the dishes and mop the floors before he left. When he finally went to prison in Huntsville he became a famous prison Rodeo Star. I believe Brogdon died in the 1990's of old age and had lots of grand-kids.

I had heard rummours of something along these lines going on but, never read any news artical or anything to confirm it. With some cabins being lean afterwards and other trashed and vandalised it almost makes me wonder if it is more than one person they are after. If they have prints but can't match them it isn't Jason Brown. They have his prints.
