I understand.  It would have been for purely entertainment reasons.

I think it's safe to assume that Chief owns more than zero guns. . . .

The first time I bought ammo in bulk, I got a natural high.  I love having ammos!

As for the 1:1 ratio thing, well, I still want an SMLE and some type of Tula Mosin or some kind of M-44.  But see about those after the Angel King gets here.

1:1 is a good rule of thumb, well worth pursuing.  Those who are ahead of the ratio should not slow down, nor falter, because some have a little catching up to do.

Lets put it this way-  I used to take several at a time out to shoot for the day.  All's well that ends well, right?  No.  It is not.  One day shooting vs. two or three days cleaning them back up is something I no longer do.

I have several.  Exact number I'll not disclose, but when you've put over 10,000 students through hunted education, and they and most of their parents have heard a few stories about this or that hunt with this or that gun throughout the class, it's a safe bet that a whole hell of a lot of people figure me for owning several.  In addition to all my family members, friends, and co-workers are well aware that there is a standing invite to a range day, and they're welcome to shoot anything I bring.  Many have taken me up on the offer.

I have safes(bolted through concrete floors), I have an alarm system, I have good locks, solid doors, and well built door frames, I also have a hell of a good dog, and it's a fair bet that one's within reach at all times when I'm home.  Neighbors are to the point we watch out for each other as well. Can't do more than that.  Yes I'm an avid enthusiast, and an instructor(this means loaner guns) and I do my share in the gun ownership per person ratio, but next to a collector or someone with a C&R license, I'm peanuts.  I don't go around bragging how many, but yeah, I'll post in a thread like this just to make a browsing anti cringe in his ill advised phobia.
This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty. . . . The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction- St. George Tucker, Blackstone's Commentaries
