I wish I could say I was shocked by this.

http://mobile.officer.com/blog/10746111/rebuttal-to-mayor-bloomberg

If the cops went on strike until the gunlaws bloomberg wants in place, are enacted, I think they would find that crime would go down. People would be responsible for their own safety, and there would be a lot of dead badguys as people would deal with the criminals and not be able to call the cops. Luckily for the weak and spineless, there are lots of cops who take their obligations seriously and wont sacrifice their integrity for the sake of political reasons. It is about honor you [email protected]&ing scumbag. Not everyone is willing to throw their honor and duty to the wind for the sake of political reasons. Like Bloomberg and so many other politicians do.

Only someone like this could use fake numbers and outright lies to instill fear, try to gain political clout and sway votes. He is a great wxample of EVERYTHING that is wrong with the political system.
You only have power over people so long as you don't take everything away from them. But when you've robbed a man of everything, he's no longer in your power - he's free again. -Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. - Ayn Rand

"I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do." -Robert Heinlein.

One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws, but conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. –– Martin Luther King, Jr.

yeah cf97, I liked that suggestion too. Let his lordship forgoe police protection and live just like a regular Joe New Yorker has to until his pet laws are enacted. Calling him an idiot is an insult to innocent idiots everywhere

Boob-berg disgusts me.  I can't believe he became a republican  :facepalm ...RINO, actually.  I have considered changing my political registration just so I would be in a different party than Boobberg but just as that happens, Schumer, Feinstein, or some or some other wacko in the leftwing peanut gallery acts up and I reconsider.

Over at policeone.com 99.9% of the LEO responses have blasted Hizzoner for the beyond assinine statement. Gov. Chris Christie has called Bloomberg out on his jackassery as well.

I feel for any good cops on Bloomberg's PSD.

IIRC, wasn't Bloomers originally a Dem, who changed his party affiliation because he failed to secure the Dem nomination for mayor when he first ran?  The GOP had no nominee, so their nomination went to him by default.  He then used his personal $$ to finance his campaign and the rest is history.
