I've had enough
« on: December 14, 2020, 11:50:06 am »
of 2020.

Lost my Dad in March of this year.
Then the covid lock down.
finally had dad's memorial service in June.
all the other people we've lost so far this year.
and since Sept,  we've been making regular trips to Tulsa to Cancer Treatment Centers of America for my wife, dealing with breast cancer.   one completely removed and her first chemo infusion was last week.  5 more of them to go (TCH: Taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin) and 11 more infusions with just Herceptin,  which is not Chemo.
Son and Daughter in law to be got married in Florida on Nov 7 and we could not go because of the C.
Then over the last week, we lost Gen Chuck Yeager and Charlie Pride.

Friday I went down,  hard.  crawled back in bed about 9 am and basically slept for 22 hours with the blanket on high to stop shivering.
guessing everything caught up with me.

Lord, it's been rough and rocky travelin'
But I'm finally standing upright on the ground
After taking several readings
I'm surprised to find my mind's still fairly sound

Survived all of it so far.  Plan to keep on.

Hope ya'lls year has been better.
hope 2021 goes better.

(ain't holding much hope,  expect the worst, that way you might be pleasantly surprised but never disappointed.)

My condolences to you and your family on your father; I'll keep you and your wife in my thoughts. Stay safe.

Yeah, 2020 has sucked a *lot*.

My wife has lost three family members to Covid (we're currently in quarantine due to her own infection with it ), and three other family members to other causes.

    Y'all take care.

I hope this next year can be better for you. Cancer is a horrible thing. I have lost aunt, uncle, grandmother and grandfather to it.

    Keep holding on.

scratch that: we've all got Covid (got my results today).  So far, it's been very mild. *knocks on every piece of wood in reach*

Condolences on your loss and everything else going on this year lets hope next year is better for everyone. It's been a year, it's gone incredibly slow and fast at the same time. We as a family have had some ups and downs but overall we're pulling through the end of it.

    Take care!

Rough year Chief.  I'm truly sorry for the way the world has been treating you and yours of late.  I wish I could make it better but it seems all we can do these days is commiserate with and pray for each other.  Better times are coming - all we have to do is survive until then.  Stay strong and true.  c.

    Things happen for a reason.

We may not understand or appreciate the reason at the time.

Monday, March 22, 2021.   LAST chemo infusion.   Chemo is now done.
We will still be doing the Herceptin every 3 weeks, but that is not chemo.

get through the next 3 weeks or so and we should start seeing physical improvement as those poisons work their way out of her body.

and in a totally unexpected twist,  Cancer treatment Centers of America is closing their Tulsa, Oklahoma location as of June 1, 2021.   So we will have to transfer her treatments after April 12 to another location.   possibly Kansas City at KU Med.  which will work and will cut our driving time by half.

Thanks for the update.  Hope it all works out well for you at the new treatment facility.  Less drive time is always a good thing.   :thumbup1
