Ok I am new to the online gun forums but I have had an affinity for firearms since I was a kid.  ( I recall drawing Glocks in 6th grade because they were boxy and easy to draw).  Anyway, I recently joined THR and also joined this forum today.  I keep seeing that this place is safe haven for former THR members.  I just want to ask what exactly is wrong with THR?

I'm no authority on the topic, but basically there's some fecal matter convective activity going on between the founder of THR, Oleg Volk, and one of the mods over ownership of the site. I don't really see the need for a "safe haven" but this site looks pretty good, I'm seeing a lot of familiar handles from THR so it feels familiar. I'm still going to read and post at THR, and I'll do the same here.

I absolutely despise Glocks. That's why I only own two.

I used to draw a lot of 1911's in sixth grade (Glocks weren't around yet). The APS site has more info on the goings on at THR if you are interested.

THR was hijacked/stolen from the rightful owner, Oleg Volk, by one of his Admins.

I am currently modding in both instances of the THR forum.

    A little chaotic.

There's little detail and little light I can shed on the matter at this time, as it's gone into litigation.

Essentially two guys, the founder and the sys admin, who have been friends for years both believe they are "owners" of the THR forum.  One of them, the founder, believes the forum is his property, the other, the sys admin, believes he has an equity stake, and won't permit the founder to act unilaterally.

Everything else is fallout from that.

It is my commitment to do what I can to keep the site running as smoothly as possible in both its instances.

I don't do this for one alleged owner or the other.  I do it for the membership.

They didn't ask for the squabble, and until there is a resolution, I'm going to provide the best service I know how.

That said, I'm also here because I have the greatest respect for the men who have put up this forum.

So, now then, is there a pot of coffee anywhere in the house?

You're a champ, Arf. I hope that your efforts will lead to what you seek.

I probably should not comment, since I am a lowly user, but I see a lot more "junk" postings on THR since the problems came to light. By junk I mean empty headed trivia (in fact not even high enough level to be called trivia). It reminds me of what the CB radio became.
